Boston Marathon 2026

The only true “goal”: enjoy it and remember it as overwhelmingly fun.

I spent 43 hours in Boston as a 43 year old running around like a child at Disneyland. My race had its ups and downs with a touchy stomach and not having as much “performance pop” in the legs as expected so I backed off the pace and leaned into the experience.

I tried to capture some of the Boston Marathon magic by filming with my tiny Insta360 Camera and although it’s not possible to capture the full spirit of the marathon virtually, here’s a quick video and a few highlights to scratch the surface …

  • meeting up with friends and making new ones from Hong Kong, Chile, Columbia, India, & England.

  • the cheering kids & giving them 100+ high fives… I imagined every single one was one of my kids back in Wisconsin and it made me laugh and smile

  • I actually did some fist pumps going UP the hills, especially heartbreak hill, and yelled out to my fellow runners “WE’RE DOING THE HILLS AT BOSTON!” (they may have hated me for this)

  • I fended off oncoming cramps, never needing to stop like last time, solved problems, and rolled with it mile by mile

  • I pushed hard the final mile and never gave up until I crossed the finish line … then barfed 4 times 😁

Thanks for following along. The marathon is always a mix of hard & happy and Boston certainly knows how to bring it 💙💛🦄
